If the game is not responding when you try to start it, or appears to crash or close itself right after opening, try these steps to address common issues.
Reboot your system
Sometimes system issues preventing the game from running will clear up after restarting your machine.
If you play on a console, turn off the system completely by pressing and holding the power button. You might also want to unplug the console's power cable for about 10 seconds to ensure the power supply has also reset.
Check for Updates
Check to see if your Operating System (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, etc) and Graphics Card drivers are fully up to date.
If you play on a Console such as Xbox One or PS4, ensure you are connected to the internet, then check to see if there are any system updates available.
Verify your game files
Check that there are not missing, outdated, or incorrectly installed game files.
If you play on Steam, you can easily verify your game files through your Library:
- In Steam, go to your Library
- Right Click on the game title
- Select Properties
- Switch to the Local Files tab
- Click Verify Integrity of Game Files...
If you are playing the game on a console or other platform, try reinstalling.
Ensure the game is not being blocked by your Security Software
Some firewall or antivirus software can interfere with games and updates. Check that the game is not being held in Quarantine, and add it to your exception list.
Reinstall the Game
Uninstall the game from your system, reboot your system, then reinstall it. This should ensure all files are present and installed correctly.
