As part of our May 2019 STEADFAST RANGER v1.48 [47675] update, we've overhauled the aiming system by tying it to existing aspects of survival gameplay and making various other improvements. These adjustments effect all aimed tools (Rifle, Survival Bow, Distress Pistol, and Revolver) in some way.
Aim Stamina
The survivor can only aim for as long as they have Stamina to hold their weapon steady, as indicated by the aim Stamina meter. Aim Stamina effects the Rifle and Survival Bow only, and replenishes over time.
Aim Stamina draining, as shown in the lower right corner.
Fatigue
How tired the survivor is determines how long they can aim with their weapon. The more fatigued they are, the less stamina they have to aim, and the more sway they experience while aiming.
Shivering
When Freezing, the survivor will shiver while aiming their weapon. This applies to all aimed weapons.
While Freezing, the survivor shivers, making it more difficult to aim.
Breathing
Breathing now adds subtle sway to weapons while aiming. The harder the survivor is breathing, such as after having sprinted, the more vertical sway the weapon will have while aiming. This also applies to all aimed weapons.
Crouching
The survivor can improve their aim by crouching while aiming down the sights of their weapon. Aiming while crouching allows the survivor to steady their breathing, and they experience less Rifle or Revolver sway as a result.
Revolver Aiming
Our new weapon, the Revolver, has its own unique rules based around aiming. Please see the Revolver article for specifics, at https://hinterlandgames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027829951
